IBEDC Decries Assaults Against Its Staff and Facilities, Appeals for Caution
In light of recent incidents of attacks across our business locations, the Management of Ibadan, Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) Plc would like to appeal to the public to refrain from engaging in such acts of violence against its employees and facilities.
A statement signed by the Managing Director of the company, Engr. Kinsley Achife said electricity distribution companies provide an essential service, which is critical to the daily lives of citizens. The attack on these offices not only causes damage to the property but also disrupts the provision of electricity, which affects the livelihoods of many and throws communities into darkness.
Jos DisCo arrests 11 Vandals in Gombe, Bauchi and Plateau
The Chief Security Officer of Jos Electricity Distribution Company, Mallam Musa Abdullahi, has said about 11 electricity vandals have been arrested in some parts of Gombe, Bauchi and Plateau States.
The arrest was as a result of a diplomatic shuttle between the Managing Director, Engr Abdu Bello Mohammed and the Chief Security Officer of the company who virtually visited all the security Chiefs and traditional rulers in the company franchise States with the view to halting the menace of the electricity criminals, a statement sent to our correspondent by the Head, Corporate Communications, Dr. Friday Adakole Elijah said.

The former General Secretary of the National Union of Electricity Workers, was elected as the new NLC President on a consensus at the 13th NLC National Delegates Conference in Abuja. He took over from Ayuba Wabba, who served as the NLC President between 2015 and 2023.

Buhari Commissions N6.8bn Substation in Akwa Ibom
President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a 2—30/40MVA substation worth N6.8 billion in Ibiono Ibom LGA, Akwa Ibom State, to improve power generation and supply to the people of the state.
Represented by the Minister of State for Power, Prince Goddy Jeddy-Agba, the President noted that the 2x30MVA substation was in fulfilment of his campaign promises to Akwa Ibom state.
We are here for an official groundbreaking ceremony of the construction of a 2—30/40MVA substation at Ibiono Ibom, Akwa Ibom state, the contract for the engineering, procurement, and construction of 2—30/40MVA substation was awarded in favour of M/S Jamec West Africa Ltd. with a completion period of 18 months.
