FG to Partner Private Sector on Green Tech
In recognition of the role energy industry will play in the development of the Nigerian economy, the Federal Government has assured Nigerians of plans to unveil a ground plan that will revolutionize the sector and the nation economy. The Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation , Dr. Adeleke Mamora, disclosed this while speaking at the National Forum and Award Ceremony of the Global Cleantech Innovation Programme in Lagos.
The minister who was represented by the Director, Department of Environmental Sciences and Technology at the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, Dr. Peter Ekweozoh, said that the energy sector is capable of positioning Nigeria on a global scale.

Delta Poly Generates Energy Internally
RECTOR of the Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara, Prof. Emmanuel Ufuophu-Biri, has said that the institution would work on solar, wind and other renewable energy sources to generate a substantial proportion of its energy needs internally.
He said the institution “will also be exploring the hydro advantage of the River Ethiope, which is just some feet beside the polytechnic.

Europe Transmission Grid Operators Back Energy Storage in EU Electricity Market Reform consultation
ENTSO-E, the association of European transmission system operators (TSOs) weighed in with its views on the European Commission reform of electricity markets last week. ENTSO-E represents 39 member organisations from 35 countries.
The European Commission opened a public consultation period on its Electricity Market Design reforms for the European Union (EU) on 23 January, as reported by Energy-Storage.news at the time. The consultation period closed on 13 February.
The transmission operator group published its submission to the consultation a day later. It said that while the EU should pursue energy security as a primary aim of the reforms, it should also accelerate the transition to a resilient and affordable carbon-neutral power system.
