Nigeria Requires $425bn to Meet Needs in 2060- Report
Nigeria will need to invest up to $425 billion in mixed energy sources in order to attain stability by the year 2060, a new report has found.
The report entitled Nigeria Leading Africa to Net Zero”, was released today by the global technology group, Wartsila and made available to Vanguard in Abuja.
n the new report, the technology company provides a comprehensive roadmap on how the country should proceed to build a 100% renewable energy power system by 2060.

Jos DISCO to Support Rural, Urban Electrification in Plateau
The Jos Electricity Distribution Plc (JED), has promised to support the expansion of rural and urban electrification programme in Plateau to boost its economy.
Abdu Mohammed, the Managing Director of the company said this when he visited the state Gov. Simon Lalong in Jos
Mohammed also promised to push for the completion of the 132 KV line to Pankshin, 2×40 MVA, 132/33KV transmission station to service the entire Central and Southern parts of Plateau, covering 13 out of the 17 Local Government Ares of the state.

West Africa Power Pool Adopts Working Document for 2023 -TCN
The Executive Board of the West African Power Pool (WAPP) has adopted a new work document and budget for 2023.
Mrs Ndidi Mbah, General Manager, Public Affairs, Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), disclosed this in a statement in Abuja on Thursday.
Mbah said the adoption was done at the 55th Ordinary Session of the WAPP Executive Board Meeting at the pool’s Headquarters in Cotonou, Benin Republic.

PHED MD Calls for Collaboration with TCN for Excellent Service Delivery
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution (PHED) Plc, Dr Benson Uwheru has emphasised the need for collaboration and synergy between the electricity distribution company and the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) in their operations to ensure the delivery of excellent services to electricity consumers in the franchise area of PHED.
He made the remark recently at a familiarisation meeting between PHED and the TCN. According to him, integrity and reliability are unnegotiable principles in PHED’s core values aimed at ensuring quality and excellent services are delivered to its customers.
Responding, the General Manager – Transmission, TCN, Dr Inugonum Thomas applauded the idea of collaboration between PHED and TCN and assured that the fault identified on the Afam-PH 132KV Line would be repaired quickly.

‘Humanise’ Energy to Help People Understand Roles and Choices: World Energy Council Chief
Conversations on energy tend to centre around money, carbon emissions and electricity, but there is a need to “humanise” the topic, said the secretary-general of the World Energy Council.
Making the topic more relatable would help people understand how and why clean energy transition matters to them, said Dr Angela Wilkinson, who is also chief executive of the UN-accredited global energy body operating in 100 countries.
We tend to talk … about energy transition in terms of trillions of dollars or gigatonnes of carbon or megawatt hours of electricity, and it goes right over people’s heads,” she said in an interview with CNA on Wednesday (Oct 26), on the sidelines of the Singapore International Energy Week.
