Virtuitis Solaris Commits Power Two Rural Communities in Jos
Virtuitis Solaris, a smart renewable energy subsidiary of MOJEC International, is rolling solar solutions to two rural communities in Plateau State, Mavo and Toff, to reduce energy poverty and deliver smart energy solutions. The rural electrification initiative unveiled on Wednesday witnessed many members of the communities expressing their delight at having access to a regular power supply.
The Virtuitis Solaris’ Representative, Mayowa Tope Oyelakin, said, “This project is critical for us. It is our starting point; we will spread the good news of renewable energy in Plateau state, Nigeria, and across Africa.” He described the intervention of Virtuitis Solaris in Africa as strategic to closing the energy access gap, given that over 645 million people lack access to electricity, and a large part of this group lives in rural areas. According to IRENA reports, Nigerians lacking access to the grid rose by 5.8 per cent to 90 million at the end of 2021.

Failure To Defend 2023 Budget: Reps Summon Electricity Commission Boss
The House of Representatives Committee on Finance has summoned the Managing Director, Nigeria Bulk Electricity Commission (NBET), Nnaemeka Ewelukwa, over failure to appear to defend his agency’s 2023 budget proposal.
James Faleke, the committee chairman, issued the summon during a budget defence meeting with some government agencies in Abuja on Monday.
Some agencies billed to appear before the committee were the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and Planning; Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF); Budget Office and Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority.
Others include Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Responsibility Commission and the Nigeria Bulk Electricity Commission (NBET).
NGO Hosts Capacity Building Workshop Ahead of COP27
On Thursday, Green Energy Mission Africa held a 1-day capacity building workshop ahead of COP27 for about 40 young people in Dutse, Jigawa state. The climate change and renewable energy workshop aimed at educating participants on the impact of climate change when Jigawa is facing a flood disaster that has wrought massive destruction on lives and properties across the state.
The workshop was meant to train and strengthen participants’ knowledge of climate change and renewable energy, increasing the effectiveness of their practices, boosting their capacity to build solutions, particularly around climate change, and raising awareness towards good climate practices

France and India Adopts Joint Roadmap on Green Hydrogen
On Tuesday, the “Indo-French Roadmap on the Development of Green Hydrogen” was adopted by the Union Power and New & Renewable Energy Minister R K Singh and France’s Minister of State for Development, Francophonie International Partnerships Chrysoula Zacharopoulou. A message from the French Embassy affirmed that both countries believed in the potential of decarbonised hydrogen to decarbonise the economy.
The adoption of this mandate to foster bilateral cooperation on hydrogen was set on 4th May 2022 on the occasion of President Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting in Paris. This mandate aims to bring the French and Indian hydrogen ecosystems together in other to establish a reliable and sustainable value chain for decarbonised hydrogen and to set the pace on a global stage

Amazon’s first 2 Renewable Energy Projects in China are Expected to Generate Enough Electricity for 250,000 Chinese Homes a Year
As one of the world’s largest economies, China has made clean energy commitments to help build a long-term sustainable economy. With Amazon’s first wind farm and solar farm in China now producing clean energy, Amazon is contributing to China’s clean energy future.
These large-scale renewable energy projects represent 200 megawatts (MW) of clean energy capacity and are expected to produce 496,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) each year—the equivalent amount of electricity needed to power 250,000 Chinese homes. In addition to the clean energy these projects now generate, they are also resulting in investments in local communities by providing environmental, economic, and educational contributions.
